AdVE uses the Vapor-compression Desalination (VC) process, which produces potable water at acceptable energy utilization levels. The feed-water enters a chamber where vapors are removed and compressed to form high-pressure steam, which then condenses to form distilled water.
AdVE desalinates water using a combination of low-cost, high-efficiency compressors and engines, and low-cost non-fouling heat exchangers.
AdVE substantially reduces the capital and operating cost of water purification.
Compared to reverse osmosis, AdVE reduces the capital costs of water desalination to an average of $2.85 per daily gallon of water processed versus and average of $5.10 per daily gallon.
Water costs are reduced to an average $1.65 per 1,000 gallons versus an average $4.95 per 1,000 gallons for reverse osmosis.
